Technology Notes
- Interviews were conducted by phone using Skype.
- Audio for speakers was recorded to separate tracks using Amolto Call Recorder.
- Audio was combined, cleaned, leveled, and edited using Audacity.
- Intros and original music were recorded using a Zoom H4n recorder.
- Completed Episodes are saved to Amazon AWS.
- Episodes added to WordPress using Blubrry PowerPress plugin to register RSS feeds with podcast directories.
Note: It’s tons of work to edit long-form interviews, both for audio and content 🙂 I experimented with automated transcription on AWS to streamline the editing process, but had mixed results. Tools have no doubt improved, so if I restart the podcast I’ll definitely revisit automated transcription!
