Summary
An experiment with Resource Description Framework (RDF) and semantic web to discover inspiring music. It’s usable and entertaining, but very much in-progress. Contact Me for github link if you are interested in helping out.
Web App and Code
Nov 2025: Woops. This app uses “semantic web” queries against DBpedia and the endpoint has changed. (For performance reasons, the DBpedia endpoint no longer returns text heavy data). A major component of this app processes and semantically annotates that text. Until I sort that, the app will be confused.
Try the prototype app at Muse Find. It’s fun, but interface has lots of interesting problems that aren’t sorted. It’s helpful to understand semantic web to make sense of things, but the goal is to enable an intuitive journey through ideas and connections.
- It’s a one-page app that dynamically loads data.
- Front End/UI: javascript/jquery, d3
- Back end: Python
- Data: DBpedia, various APIs, and a blog about interesting art/music (and blogger api)
